Google fun and resources for teaching

Some folks might be hooked on the game “angry birds” but I AM HOOKED ON “A Google a day,” a trival pursuit of sorts in the search engine world of Google. (like I need more reasons to stay up late-yikes!) “A Google a day” supplies a question and you can either choose to play/research in the timed or untimed modes. Test your searching skills!

I came upon this game after reading Joyce Valenza’s blog posts about the new Google search education resource, Google Search Engine Evangelism. Although it is stated that these resources are for middle school and above, I can see adapting and using them with my upper elementary students. I like the lessons (even though some contain links to YouTube videos which are blocked by my district’s firewall) and the related bookmark and poster resources.

Fun, fun, fun!
